Meet the Warriors – Niall Duffy

ewrfcadminMeet the Warriors

Why did you join?

I mainly joined to increase my fitness levels and grow my friends circle. I have always had a love for Rugby. I had never played before and I thought I didn’t have the physical build. Then thankfully the boot camp happened, everyone made me feel so welcome!

What does being a Warrior mean to you?

Been a warrior means I am part of an amazing supportive team. I have made so many friends the circle has grown and I feel at home in Dublin.

What have you learned/gained since joining the Warriors?

You can do anything you put your mind to. Rugby is a sport that requires all physical abilities and together we are a strong unit.

What has been your favourite moment/memory of being a Warrior?

Oh it has to be my first games and my first tackle. My adrenaline was flowing and it felt good, even though I didn’t have a notion what I was doing lol. The surf trip to Lahinch and of course more recently the Hadrian Cup in Newcastle.Scoring my first try in the final of Hadrian Cup, which we then won. (To be clear we’d have won with or without that try, but it still felt class!)

Any advice for aspiring Warriors?

Just do it ! I moved to Dublin 5 years ago and put it off until last year and it’s been my biggest regret since. There’s nothing you cannot do, especially when you know your team is behind you and they’ll always have your back!
