Why did you join?
I played tag rugby last summer and really enjoyed it, so I wanted to try the real thing. A friend from my tag team had just joined the Warriors, and I’d heard they were really welcoming to beginners, so I decided to give it a go.
What does being a Warrior mean to you?
Being part of a team & a community where everyone’s working hard & supporting each other, on and off the pitch.
What have you learned/gained since joining the Warriors?
I’ve gotten stronger & fitter, I actually understand some of the rules now, and I’ve met a load of extremely sound people.
What has been your favourite moment/memory of being a Warrior?
Scoring my first try in the final of Hadrian Cup, which we then won. (To be clear we’d have won with or without that try, but it still felt class!)
Any advice for aspiring Warriors?
Just go for it – I wish I’d done it years ago. Everyone is really welcoming, no one is expecting you to know the rules or be brilliant the first time you touch a ball; you’ve just gotta hurl yourself into it, and it’ll be grand!
